Colour Me Happy Wednesday :: Ivory

There’s something about ivory that makes me want to get really dressed up for a dinner out… why is that? This is not usual for me as I’m really not a fan of dressing up and probably do this once every 3 years and only because I have to. Not surprisingly the ivory keyword search found a lot of beautiful things for bride but here’s what took my eye:

TOP: Olini Floral – Ivory Peony Bridal Hair Flower – I cannot ever resist a peony and I think this would look so pretty on a well coiffed head.
MIDDLE: The $5 French Market – Hand Stamped Ivory Candles. There was a time that I couldn’t own enough candles but that was my pre-children days. I think these would be perfect on the Christmas table.
BOTTOM: The Beautiful Garden Boutique – Antoinette Bracelet Freshwater Pearls. I love the unevenness of freshwater pearls over classic pearls. I also love the glint of green that these give off although I’m not sure if that’s just a trick of the light.

  1. So much beauty! I love peonies, too. This one is beautiful. My daughter would love it; she’s big on hair flowers.

The candles are amazing. I agree. They would totally make a Christmas dinner table.

And I am so with you on the fresh-water pearls. I love that they are each unique. A little different from what people expect a pearl to be. Thought imperfect by some because of their shape, but so beautiful to those of us who don’t require perfection.

I like flaws and uniqueness — in pearls and in people.

  2. Hey Miss Robin… I also have a thing for flaws. I love the concept behind the artisans of handcrafted rugs who purposefully tie one knot incorrectly. I like unusual shapes and the not quite perfect.
