An eye for :: triangles

Store window display of geometric pattern

Out shopping last week this window display from Kikki-K and all those triangles really caught my eye. As it is the way for me I’ve been seeing triangles ever since. Is there a name for that? I mention it so often, this idea of when you become aware of something; a word or image you start seeing it everywhere. Let me know if it has a name.

Back to triangles… so I went searching through the talent at Etsy and found these gorgeous triangle themed treasures.

  2. Set of TWO stacking, Red Oak Triangle wall decor, shadow boxes by Perrodin Supply Co
  3. Teal Triangle Decorative Pillow Cushion Hand Drawn and Silk Screened by Erin Flett
  4. Star of Triangles Spectrum Letterpress Print – 15″ by 20″ Linoleum Cut – Color Theory – Limited Edition of 20 by Three Steps Ahead

If you too are feeling inspired to use triangles in your personal projects, how about these gorgeous patterns from the über talented Jo at August Empress. You can download the patterns free (there are 6 in all) and I turned the small download file into a pattern in Photoshop as they tile seamlessly. I think I feel a project coming on!

  1. This is a beautiful collection!! We are honored to be included on your darling blog. Thank you!

  2. There’s got to be a word for that. I’m going to see if I can figure it out.

    And I love your choices. Did you ever watch Sesame Street? Telly loves triangles. Funny the things my mind chooses to recall and associate.

  3. I love when geometric objects are used in art. They are so simple yet so powerful!
