I hate summer! No really, my philosophy is the world works better when it’s colder and the colder the better. I never feel comfortable in summer and it’s unfortunate that I happen to live in one of the hotter countries on earth. I do however, love summer fruit, well anytime of the year fruit really but I seem to notice fruit more in summer, maybe it’s because we are spoiled for choice. This week has been all about fruit and I’ve been really drawn to images, motifs and the colours in fruit.

I’ve been working with the talented Marg over at Red Moon Creative on a redesign of my Crimson Pear logo (see how much I like fruit) so I think that somehow explains my latest fixation.

Then I stumbled across these breathtaking images by Lupen Grainne Photography and I really had to share them with you. Her work is so striking and even the simplest subject is mesmerising. Not surprisingly I was very enamoured with her fruit imagery even though she captures ocean, travel and flowers (just to name a few) that evoke the same eclectic dreaminess.

The images above are all via Lupen Grainne Photography Etsy store and do not show the complete image so please go and see the real thing:

  1. Oh wow, those are gorgeous! What an awesome find, Libby – they’d look fantastic in a kitchen, don’t you think? I’m totally in awe of photographers who can make the simplest things beautiful, or find beauty with just a few things.

  2. These are beautiful. Being in Utah in the dead of winter, I’d love some fresh fruit, locally grown. Whatever we have is trucked in from California or Mexico. Not the same as something local at all. And now you’ve got me craving pomegranate — I love those!
I hope you’re getting a break from the heat. We’re starting to see some sun every once in a while.
