Today would have been my mother’s 80th birthday. Last year she told me she didn’t want a party so I told her I would take her out for lunch, what a difference a year makes. This colour was the colour of her eyes, they were such an intense shade of blue, like the blue of the ocean.
I miss her.

What a beautiful tribute to your mother. I’m sorry you’re hurting today.
It’s a wonderful color and you made great choice. But, of course, I am in love with that brick wall. Not just the non-traditional color, but the variety and the missing pieces. I’ve got a thing for beautifully placed flaws.
Thanks Miss Robin. I know that you and I are one when it comes to ‘beautifully placed flaws’, as you so eloquently put it. I’m sure some people would raise an eyebrow to a photo of a brick wall but this photo made me stop and ponder.
I love that shade of blue. I love that it reminds you of your mom even more.
