Spring promise :: daffodils

4 daffodil items from etsy

The promise of spring is apparent today with the vast amount of daffodils blooming. From the little girl holding just two as part of her book club costume this morning at school, to the huge bunch in the plastic bucket at the markets and even my lone bloom in the courtyard that I have no recollection planting. I love spring flowers for their optimistic faces on grey rainy days (yes another one).

Here are some clever Etsy sellers who do the daffodil justice:

  1. Yellow daffodil photography yellow flowers summer daffodils olive green avocado orange narcissus photography London England – Daffodil 8×10 by bomobob etsy store
  2. Daffodil linocut by Gwen Ottinger Artworks
  3. Daffodil orchid hook earrings by Michelle Pujol Jewellery
  4. Spring Daffodil Watercolor Print 8×10 by Liz Hutnick

P.S. The lovely Michelle (#3) just reminded me that today is the Cancer Council’s Daffodil Day to raise money for cancer research. So buy a daffodil if you can.

  1. Ah yes… opposite seasons. 🙂

    I do love daffodils. They just scream “Hey! Look at me! I’m all pretty and stuff!” Turned upside down, they make a pretty spring color-blocking combination.

  2. You’re getting excited for spring and I’m getting excited for fall. Love that.

    The first photo is great. I love the trees in the background and the way the light behind the flower makes it transparent. Wonderful.
